After checking in and settling into the lodge, dinner will be served in the evening.

Days 2 and 3: Enjoying activities at Zebra Country Lodge

Wake up to the sounds and smells of the bush. After a well-prepared breakfast, you can either spend some time relaxing by the pool and taking it easy. Or you can take part in the numerous activities on offer at the lodge. Join a nature drive with a guide and explore the surrounding area, or embark on a bush walk with trained rangers. The lodge also offers wellness and massage therapy treatments. If you want some more activity, you can challenge the other guests to a game of volleyball.

Adventure options on offer include taking part in a Big Five game drive in the Dinokeng Reserve, fishing in the nearby lakes, hot air ballooning, kayaking or horse riding.

If you prefer less strenuous activities, visit the Ndebele Cultural Village for a taste of local culture. Or enjoy the pleasant melodies of the local marimba band or try your hand at drumming on traditional drums and percussion instruments.

Please note that all optional activities are not included in the price.

This evening we will enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Entabeni Game Reserve

After breakfast and checkout, we travel to Entabeni Game Reserve. Once again, if you chose the self-drive option, you will drive to the reserve on your own. If not, there will be a group transfer. Travel time is approximately two and a half hours.

We check in at the Honeyguide Ranger Camp and enjoy a refreshing beverage while a lodge representative provides a brief introduction to the next few days. An approximate schedule including game drives and meal times will be provided.

We will enjoy a late lunch at the camp and relax for a while before embarking on an evening game drive. If you would like to try a night game drive, you can do so at an additional cost.  The evening drive starts in the late afternoon and we will enjoy a sundowner at a scenic point and soak in the beautiful landscape in the glow of the setting sun before the evening drive ahead. The drive will take approximately three hours.  We will experience the bush coming to life as the animals prepare for the night’s hunt.

We return to the lodge for a hearty dinner and retire to our tents filled with impressions of the first day of safari. Falling asleep to the sounds of the wild is truly an unforgettable experience.

Day 5 to 7: Safaris at Entabeni Wild Life Reserve

The next three days will be packed with two daily scheduled game drives. Morning safaris will begin bright and early after a warm drink and biscuits. We embark on safari in open vehicles and catch the stunning sunrise. The beautiful light upon the savannah and chilly morning air wakens the senses and prepares you for the day ahead.

The reserve is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros) as well as, other animals such as various species of antelope, giraffe, hyena, hippopotamus, cheetah, wild dogs, baboons, monkeys and more. There is also an abundance of birdlife to observe.

Breakfast is enjoyed back at the lodge.

Relax after breakfast or have a nap and conserve energy for another exhilarating game drive in the afternoon after lunch.

All meals and two daily game drives are included during your stay at Ranger Camp. For more information about the camp’s facilities, look at the accommodation description.

Day 8: Departure

Enjoy your final morning safari before an early breakfast followed by checkout. Albatros Ranger Camp

Albatros Ranger Camp is Albatros Adventure’s newest private camp in the Entabeni Game Reserve and beautifully situated in a remote savannah area with abundant wildlife. The camp was recently renovated with new, elegant tents, modern toilet and shower facilities and comfortable furniture. The camp is tastefully designed to provide modern comforts without compromising on the authentic African safari experience. All in all, a top notch camp.

In the summer of 2014, the camp expanded with 15 double tents that are spacious enough for families or friends sharing. Great emphasis was placed on keeping the landscape intact during the camp expansion.

The area surrounding the camp is closed to the public and vehicles are unable to drive through. This means that the wildlife is at closer proximity and our guests are able to experience the African bush up close.

Daily walking safaris and game drives in open vehicles are arranged by the camp.

Other than 15 well-appointed double tents, the camp also boasts a pool, bar and restaurant.  The Ranger Camp offers a genuine bush experience without compromising on comfort and modern amenities.
